Dr. Chernoguz, O.D.

Dr. Monica Chernoguz O.D., a San Francisco native, and with over twelve years of optical experience, joined our practice in September 2016.  She completed her doctorate in Optometry from the University of California Berkeley, where she received the Eschenbach’s Excellence in Low Vision Award. She completed her undergraduate degree in Health Science and Policy from Brandeis University in Waltham Massachusetts, just a few miles from Boston. 


Dr. Chernoguz is a therapeutic and glaucoma certified optometrist, trained to diagnose and treat a number of eye health conditions including eye infections, and monitoring cataracts.  Dr. Chernoguz particularly enjoys children’s eye exams, managing dry eye and multifocal contact lens fittings. 


Dr. Chernoguz is fluent in Russian, and proficient in optometric Spanish.  Outside of clinical work, Dr. Chernoguz spends her time with her husband and daughter. She enjoys cooking and spending weekends in Sonoma on her family’s vineyard where they produce Pinot and Petite Sirah.
